Thanks! For the holiday, my friend and I decided we would give his boat the once over with a little paint. Tried something a bit different this time. Cleaned the hull and used the color of the boat as the background. Painted black hex pattern randomly all over. The the tall grass with the khaki paint, short grass in the army green. Then the final layer was cattails, a 50/50 mix of dark brown ones and dark green ones. Anybody else have any success on their boats with stencils? I would really like to see what some of you have come up with.

You've inspired me to buy a set of stencils, but that's as far as I've gotten.
Too many other projects on the front burner right now.

So who's boat is faster. Yours or your buddy's?

Currently we are running roughly the same speed low to mid 20’s. That being said I am currently missing about an inch off of my 9 1/2” prop due to playing in some rocky mud.... when I first had it out with a fresh prop, and two people in the boat I hit 24. We just put that motor on his boat (37hp). So, when he gets it dialed in, and I get some fresh props, it’s a race. I think he may end up with some hurt feelings. I told him when he bought that motor he started a war....

Just FYI for down the road.
We do have a Big Block kit for the Briggs 35/37 EFI that would make your lead on him even greater. :gearheadevil:

Working on mine right now. Post pics when done. Did you clear coat yours?

I did not clear coat either of the boats. It might of made the paint job a bit more durable if I had. However the paint has been holding up very well so far.

That looks great! I get all my stencils from the yard, pasture, etc. What could be better than the real thing?
