How Are Folks Managing?

Awfully quiet on the Swamp Runner board. Wondering how others are managing and if you're getting out?

Canadian-US border closed since March. Anyone coming into the province from anywhere else has had to isolate for 14 days. That was lifted yesterday for western Canada travel only. Going north has not been allowed and was lifted a couple weeks ago. So far we have only had 300 cases in total and only 6 active right now - 1.5 million people and 1.5x the size of California. We have been able to go out so have gotten on the water a few times but will do more now that it's warming up outside. We are pretty remote and my wife taught from home for 2+ months and the fall is still up for grabs as far as classes are concerned. Cruising has been a great activity in all of this and there's no one else out there! Busying myself with boat projects outside of spring farming.

Has anyone's boating access been affected?

PS - Went to my favourite river a month ago to check and see if the walleye were running at ice out, got my boot stuck in the mud and fell into 33 degree water, stripped naked in 33 degree air with a wind, and laughed myself silly wringing out my pants! Now that was funny!!!

Family got the cabin fever pretty bad, with my wife working from home and schools closed for the kids. But the boys are in baseball now, wife is back to work in person, my shift work never stopped. Not getting out on the boat enough, I tell you that!

I've been swamped with fishing tackle orders. Just now starting to get caught up.
