Duck Mount Suggestions
I took a Black Duck the other day. I know for some these things are common, but for where I hunt, Black Ducks are very rare. I was wondering if anyone else had one mounted. If so, I would like to see a picture of it. I am just trying to get some ideas.

Like the Mallard shown with the wings out , is what I go with when having one mounted . I'm fixing to drop off a nice looking drake bluebill to have mounted myself .

If I were you, I would go through all of the mount photos at http://birdmanstudios.com/. Find one you like and print it out. Take it to the taxidermist you intend to use and give them the picture.
Here is one of a Ringed Teal (South America) that Todd at Birdman Studios did for me.

Here are some pintails that I had done by a local competition style taxidermist. (You can also see my wife's wood duck on the table)

Mowaterfowl, those are some good looking mounts! The guy who does my mounts will give me a call after gets it fleshed out. I had a few pellets go through the head and a broken wing, so my choices of mounts are reduced. I should get it back sometime in the summer. I look forward to sharing it with you guys.

That was by far the best looking mallard I have ever had in hand. The band for her was nice, but that mallard is beautiful.jmscherrman wrote: Dude. Awesome.
She has a bufflehead out getting mounted right now. It was the first bird shot over the decoys I made and it will have a spot to hang the two bufflehead decoys in the off season.

I got my Black Duck back today. It took a lot of work to repair the wing and head but came out alright.
