Thanks Sour. Been scouting Blackshear. Seen about fifty or so. Most six feet or less. The one I want to take is a state record or close too it, but only way to get to him is by paddle trip. I have no way to get him out. Found two that were between ten to twelve feet, but same problem requires paddle trip. Motor won't push my boat through packed sand. Still trying to figure out how I am going to work this. Not much rain down this way. Water levels are just too low. The main guy I trust to go with me had something come up and is not going to be able to go until next weekend.

Yeah, we've got the water issues too. These motors are go anywhere...except hard packed river bottom sand, especially when there isn't enough water on top of said sand. For a state record (or close enough) it might be time to do some paddling or even walking! I just put in for my tag but I know it'll be a 5-6 year process

My 8.5 prop is now measuring 4.75. May be time to get the other shaft and run stainless. This sand and gravel is hell on the prop and motor.

Has anyone on here hunted gators from a canoe or kayak? Is it possible to tow a gator with a conoe or kayak?
