Golden Times

Post by Tommyknocker »

Cabin fever finally got the best of me and I couldn't wait any longer to see how/if the winter flows have changed my favorite river spot. So, this past weekend, I loaded up and started my adventures a bit early.

This first photo is waiting at the launch to see when the water starts to drop. Is was racing by at 7 ft depth when I usually prefer it to be 3ft. I did run upstream for a while and I have no issues dragging the dredge upstream against the flow. It will be slow, but the beast never fails me!

As I quickly went downstream I was hoping for a positive result on the day and this sample pan of my first run kinda speaks for itself.

When this river is running its normal depth, I have to fight around rocks and sandbars to move down to my spot. Without the mud-motor, I would never make it. More to come as the summer goes on ...

Sweet stuff!
Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

When do you get your own tv show? I'd rather watch your adventures!

I wonder if you could build a cyclone style filter to continuously sift out gold. Kinda like they do for particulate emissions at factories. Then you could just drive around and it do the work for you.

The TV Shows have way too much drama and scripts for me ... not an impossibility, just that no one has offered $$ to me for one.

A cyclonic system would work to clean up the final paydirt, but you have to move a bunch of dirt/rocks to get to that point.
